This form is for the Residents of the City of Hernando. The police department is currently attempting to purchase a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) program with the help of federal funds through a grant. Once this CAD system is in place, everything in the police communications center can be brought up on a screen. When the address is brought up on the screen, there will be an “information” button that we can see any type of special circumstances for this address. The Hernando Police Department wants to continually improve serving and protecting our citizens. The following form can be filled out and each one filled out will be filed in Communications and also the data entered into the computer system. This form is not only good for our personnel, but for the Patrol Division, Fire Department and the EMS Division. A perfect example of this is, if you or a family member within the household is on oxygen, communications will immediately see this information as they pull the call up in the CAD system, they can alert the Fire and EMS personnel so they can be prepared prior to arrival on scene, or if someone in the household has had medical problems, has a protection order against anyone, etc. It can also be used in a situation where the alarm is going off on your house, or if a patrolman sees something “out of place” like a window screen off or a suspicious acting person around the property. This will give communications a way of contact to the homeowner. Again, this will be held at the police department, no information will be released to public. This will be used for the purposes of emergency situations and for the safety of our citizens and our emergency personnel responders.
